Kundalini Yoga for the Adrenals

Today's class targets the adrenal glands - those tiny glands sitting just above your kidneys, that play an incredibly vital role in your well-being.

The adrenals produce essential hormones like cortisol and adrenaline, which help your body respond to stress, regulate metabolism, and maintain stable blood pressure.

But in our increasingly fast-paced, high-stress matrix of a world that we live in, our adrenals can get overwhelmed leading to fatigue, anxiety, and burnout. When these glands are overworked, you can feel completely drained, unable to cope with the challenges life throws your way (we've all been there!)

This is where this wonderful kundalini yoga comes into play..

Specific breathwork, movement, mantra (there's some chanting in this one!) and meditation, help to regulate the flow of energy in the body, which in turn helps the adrenals find their natural rhythm again. Practices like breath of fire can stimulate the adrenals in a way that energizes and detoxifies without depleting them.

When your body feels safe and supported, your adrenals don’t need to constantly fire up to handle stress.

Instead, they can rest, restore, and function optimally.

So, if you’re feeling frazzled, worn down, or just out of balance (and even if you're not), I hope you find this practise a gentle enough yet powerful way to nurture yourself.
